MPGenie™ Basics 051
The MPGenie™ Basics 051 Class is a 1-day course. The material covered is mainly derived from the MPGenie™ web pages. The benefit you receive from attending the Class is actually seeing the web pages come to life. Ignition components are tested on a special rig -- "Sparky" -- that shows you how spark intensity changes with different components. A small "dyno" -- a highly modified MPGenset -- shows you what affect different technologies have on emissions and fuel economy. The Class spends considerable time on topics the web pages briefly mention. Plus you can ask the knowledgeable Trainer questions and get custom-tailored answers.

MPGenie™ Master Training Program
Today's automotive technicians are a special breed. They are expected to know as much as a medical doctor, but get paid a mere fraction of what a doctor makes. Like a doctor, they must contiually keep up-to-date on the new vehicles and new technologies they see coming through their garage doors. Also like a doctor, they must invest thousands of dollars in proper tools, specialty equipment, books & manuals, and on-going training.
The MPGenie™ Master Training Program is a 5-day class that could be considered an MPG 101-306 course. It starts with basic concepts of engine operation, how to calculate (and test) fuel economy, and a few modifications that do not affect combustion efficiency. The basic outline follows the MPGenie™ Basic 051 Class, but with much more depth of information, plus hands-on application on a real vehicle(s). In fact, throughout the Class Students will be working on their vehicle, applying what they learned to the real world. They drive home the proof -- literally. (Makes a great sales aid!)
One of the foundational commercial packages is the basic Fuel Economy Tune-Up. This covers upgrades to the ignition and fuel systems, as well as things to watch out for (like marginal oxygen sensors). The class works with an OBD-II Scan Tool, 5-gas EMS Emissions Analyzer, DVOM, oscilloscope, Sparky, and our heavily modified mobile "dyno", our MPGenset. It expands to include PCV modifications, grounding, lubricants, tires, and a few other technologies.
The class learns how to safely heat the fuel, and how magnets should be used. We cover the “Do’s” and “Don’ts” for induction and exhaust upgrades. It is only through a lengthy Training Program we could properly address many of the subtle things to watch for and address. Other technologies are explored in Class that are not covered on this site, or in the Basic 051 Class. Lastly, we share tips on selling the service to customers (the Business of the business).
The Course is divided between classroom learning and shop doing. Live class attendees will get hands-on experience to take back home. They will be able to ask questions and get custom-tailored answers. They will receive an MPGenius Certificate for completing the Class and passing the test at the end.
